Haiku
Got to play with the new Haiku Hard Drive image today. I'm not sure what it was suppose to do but it booted up to a blue screen with the Haiku logo in the bottom right corner and then just sat there. If yo go into safe mode you get a terminal where you can navigate around the system, but most of the commands don't do anything and I cant seem to figure out how to launch the GUI after that. Then again I did only spend about 10 minutes trying.
I remember how fun Be-Os used to be even with it's incredibly simple interface. Everything worked out of the box. Installing programs was as simple as the Mac and you couldn't spend hours playing with the interface settings coz there weren't any. And that is a good thing. Not that I dislike playing with the UI but I wonder how productive it is for the average user. I spend hours trying to get themes and icons working in Gnome and for what? Most of the time the default theme is the best on (although a bit dull)
