Happy 2006

This year has been interesting. Just the amount of stuff that has happened in the world in one year is insane. From the Pope dieing to the London Bombings, it makes me think of that Confucius curse “May you live in interesting times”. Its a bit of a morbid way of looking at it but you can kinda see the point. I like it. So far there really hasn't been much to define our generation except for a lot of major events in quick succession. I do have a horrible idea that we will be known as the Internet generation but I think that will be just because no one will really take a look at the larger picture and come up with something a bit more creative. It seems more like we are a generation of transparency . The Internet is just a tool to foster a more open and accessible society. Hopefully people will see this and realize that a closed attitude only breeds mistrust and suspicion. And besides from plots in books and movies, this is a bad thing. Here is to 2006 being more naked than the last year.

Some pictures from my phone from the last year.

Just Dip Shit

Picture seen on a bus into the city.

Grafiti in an alley

Grafiti in an alley near China town.

Girl in trolly

Girl in a trolley wraped up in glad wrap begging to be taken to the Opera house. Nice friends. Even the policeman walked by her and laughed.

Sticky Notes

Me and Kenneth Sticky Noted Dawers Car

Sari with herbs up her nose.

Smelly Stuff

A huge collection of cologne at Salvidores house. It was like a mini city of smelly stuff.

Smelly Stuff

Musings on the fridge.

Different coloured socks

Different coloured socks worne by the firewall guy at work.

Taxi Cab

A real life American Taxi cab in Sydney. They were shooting the Superman movie and had loads of props and people dressed up like I-Mericans. Taxis here and in I-Merica look different to the ones back home in South Africa. Humm..

Foot injury

Steve cut his foot open playing touch rugby on a pice of sharp concrete. Serves him right for beating me in wrestling.

Jihad Joe

Jihad Joe. As seen on someones desk at work.

Bowling Shoes

Bowling shoes. On my last week at the head office, a group of us went bowling to morne my leaving. Everyone seemed a little too happy that night.

Cindy's bad driving.

Cindy hitting a pole with the side of her car outside of the bowling alley.

Cindy running

Cindy trying to stop me taking a photo.

Poison Gas

Poison Gas sticker on all the toilets at my new work. You would think they would get rid of the poison gas instead of telling people to hold there breath. Great to know the place is safe.

No Bull Shit

Sticker in Newtown. As you can tell, no politicinas live here.

Hand Dryer

Went to dry my hands at this hand dryer in the cinema.

Crash

Only to find it was running Linux and had crashed.

Steam Cleaning the road.

One night walking through the city we saw a lot of road construction going on. However this womans job seemed to be to steam clean the tar. Seriously. How Bazaar.
