Runaway bride

This shoot was uncomfortable for me. It took me out of my comfort zone, it made me feel weird and uncertain. I had no idea what I was doing.

And it was such a great experience.😆

My friend Nancy hit me up to shoot herself and her “wife to be” (not her real wife to be) Anne for a shoot of two brides in a place where brides don’t usually appear. Oh and its got to be retro looking and maybe with a flash shot straight at them so that the photos look amateur.
OK… Whats the inspiration…?

WTF! Is that a plastic bag attacking you!
Bride veils are weird.
But she had a shoot list and a place to meet. So the plan was set and after a quick bite to eat and a beer (thanks Scott :) we headed out to Chinatown and raided one of the local restaurants.

So two brides, eating food, playing arcade games and sitting in the mall….

Just having fun and living in the moment.
The best part is how unnaturally natural it all looks and feels.
And when they posed at the rubbish bin and the bin chicken walked by after some coaxing from Scott, that was the highlight for me.
But then I had a realization. This was the 3rd wedding I have shot in an alley and the 2nd where the couple posed with a rubbish bin… So maybe I’m not stepping out of my comfort zone enough.. Lol.
Anyways here is the photo story.

Thank you Anne and Nancy for having me along on this adventure!
