Behind the scenes on the Golden Pineapple

What one photo takes to create

It seems deceptively simple shooting a pineapple but a personal shoot like this requires multiple days to enact. Not many people realise this so this blog post is a little look into how this one image got created.

From researching the concept to deciding on the types of fruit and vegetables I was going to photograph through to backdrop and pallet selection, this photo took me about 3 days in total to create.
Finding the right paint took me 3 different tries before I found one that would photograph well. Hint it was not the $90 art finish one they use on furniture but the cheapest kids one for $3.

I ended up shooting 3 other fruit and vegetables but none turned out as nicely as the pineapple which means that those images as essentially binned at that point. So a series turns into a single image, which sometime happens just as often as a single image may turn into a series.

Time lapse video below of the shoot day and a break down of the photoshop file.
