Whats in my camera bag?

What does a commercial photographer carry around with him in his bag?

Thats a bit of a hard one to answer as every shoot tends to require a slight change in equipment. My main bag is a bright yellow Pelican 1510 case. This thing is a a tank. It can take the hard knocks and there is very little chance of someone running off with it without me knowing unlike the myriad of black bags out there.

This bag travels to every shoot however I also have a couple of other bags with lighting equipment, stands, tripods and other tools that get pulled out depending on the job.

As a workhorse camera I use a Canon 5D Mk3 and a backup Canon 5D Mk 2.

Lenses are :
Canon 24-70mm
Canon 70-200mm
Canon 50mm f1.4

I have a selection of Godox triggers and Canon speed-lights. I moved away from Profoto as their Air Remote was a nightmare to use and ate batteries like nothing else. The Godox are far more user friendly and I can use it wish a number of other lighting systems.

A couple of small lighting modifiers.

A selection of coloured gels for the speed-lights.

Gaffer tape is essential on every shoot. Seriously.

A loupe for checking out images on the back of the camera especially in bright daylight.

Mints. Because sometimes your mouth feels like a garbage can.

Tether tools USB cable for tethering to a laptop.

X-Rite Colour checker passport for accurate colour calibration.

Hoya 10 stop ND Filter.

Polarising filter.

Loads of spare batteries for the camera and flash’s.

Headache tablets. Yup even photographers get headaches.

Spare memory cards.

Multitool knife for cutting gaffer tape and cake (everyone loves cake).
